FFF Conclave: Youth Fly Fishing Camp September 3

The Federation of Fly Fishers annual Conclave runs from August 31 thru September 3 in West Yellowstone, MT. It is a spectacular event for all ages…including kids!

As part of the Conclave, the Youth Fly Fishing Camp is a one-day educational program that is not only a whole lot of fun, but also a great way to develop fly fishing skills and learn about the world in which fish live. The camp is designed for ages 8-17 and will offer a wide variety of angling and aquatic education topics.

From the FFF website:

The class begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011. Instruction will be in the introduction of the equipment used in fly fishing, beginning fly tying, entomology, knots, angler ethics — including Leave No Trace and a discussion on Catch and Release, as well as, beginning and intermediate fly casting. The first part of the day will encompass the instruction, the later part, fishing in a still water environment, offsite from the Holiday Inn. For interested Boy Scout campers, you can earn some of the Fly Fishing Merit Badge requirements.

The registration fee is $20.00 for one child.  For families wanting to enroll more than one child the price is $30.00 for two kids or $35.00 for three kids.
