We here at Take Kids Fly Fishing recently wrapped up our Official Launch Contest, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. 52 kids submitted entries in the coloring contest, and we had great prizes donated by amazing sponsors. Those prizes included the following:

Kids were given an opportunity to color inside or outside the lines and submit their coloring page for the contest which was a combination of judging and random drawings. The 32 lucky winners are on display HERE.
The great thing about this contest is that everybody wins, even if they don’t win a prize. The product sponsors were given an opportunity to showcase their products in front of their target audience: parents and kids. Kids were given an opportunity to have some fun in hopes of winning some great prizes and maybe learning a bit more about fly fishing. Obviously those who won were happier than those who did not. Parents may have learned about more of the great products that are available to kids.
We hope that the kids who won items will put them to good use. Not every kid who won is already an accomplished young fly fishing person, but maybe reading a fun fly fishing book will wet their appetite for wetting a line. Perhaps watching an instructional fly fishing dvd will help rookies understand more about all that is involved with fly fishing. And of course those kids who won their own kids fly fishing rods, waders and vests will be thrilled to try out their new gear. If they have younger siblings, they can pass along their gear when they outgrow it (kids have a tendency to grow).
The goal of our contest, and our website, is to promote fly fishing from both sides: the product manufacturers as well as the audience. It’s not easy to find all the great kids fly fishing gear and other products available. We hope to make it a lot easier. Please follow Take Kids Fly Fishing on Facebook and subscribe to our RSS feeds. We will be bringing you the latest news on everything related to kids and fly fishing, and we appreciate your support.
Thanks to everyone for your enthusiastic support!
